Judging A Book By Its Cover? Fiction Edition

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

Here's to people who judge a book by its cover. The bibliophile who loves to be pleased aesthetically by some of the most gorgeous books as much as I do.

We have all heard "Don't Judge a book by its cover," but sometimes it's simply impossible when they are as gorgeously designed as some of these are.

So if you are looking for books that will not only quench your thirst for stories but also steal your heart with their beautiful looks, don't fret because there's plenty to choose from.

Just like people, the books too follow trends. Sometimes they go for broad themes such as flowery designs or birds and then there are times when they go for retro designs or hand-drawn covers. These trends keep on changing and the covers seem to keep getting more and more Ravishing.

There are plenty of books that make me fall in love at first sight, the books with bright, beautiful illustrations or photographs or drawings. These covers will not only leave you breathless every time you look at them, Reading them will be just as beautiful experience.

So whether you are in search of your next read or an aesthetically beautiful title display on your shelf or Instagram. Here are 8 perfectly designed books you will love to judge by their covers.

ONE. HOW TO BE SAFE BY Tom McAllister

FORMER TEACHER HAD MOTIVE. Recently suspended for a so-called outburst, high school English teacher Anne Crawford is stewing over the injustice at home when she is shocked to see herself named on television as a suspect in a shooting at the school where she works. Though she is quickly exonerated, and the actual teenage murderer identified, her life is nevertheless held up for relentless scrutiny and judgment as this quiet town descends into media mania. Gun sales skyrocket, victims are transformed into martyrs, and the rules of public mourning are ruthlessly enforced. Anna decides to wholeheartedly reject the culpability she’s somehow been assigned, and the rampant sexism that comes with it, both in-person and online. A piercing feminist howl wrote in trenchant prose, How to Be Safe is a compulsively readable, darkly funny Exposé of the hypocrisy that ensues when illusions of peace are shattered.

In the glittering hotbed of turn-of-the-twentieth-century Vienna, one woman’s life would define and defy an era

Gustav Klimt gave Alma her first kiss. Gustav Mahler fell in love with her at first sight and proposed only a few weeks later. Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius abandoned all reason to pursue her. Poet and novelist Franz Werfel described her as “one of the very few magical women that exist.” But who was this woman who brought these most eminent of men to their knees? In Ecstasy, Mary Sharratt finally gives one of the most controversial and complex women of her time the centre stage.

SIX. A COURT OF SILVER FLAME BY Sarah Maas

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.
